Will of James McNabb Parish of St. Felciana Louisiana 29 May 1815
In the name of God Amen
I James McNabb of the stat of Louisiana and the Parish of St Feliciana being perfect in my mind and memory but low in body do constitute and make this will and testament. First I give and bequeath my Soul to God that give it. Secondly I recommend by body to be buried in a Christianlike manner and as touching the affairs of this life that it hath pleased God to help me with, I give, devise and Bequeath in the form following.
First of all, to by beloved wife Sarah McNabb, I give unto her all my Estate both real and personal during her natural lifetime in whose hands and custody it may be found......at her death I desire the residue of the Property to be equally divided among my beloved children (viz) Baptist McNabb, James Y. McNabb, Katherine Bell, John W. McNabb, and Nancy Lilly. Except Joseph Y. McNabb who at the death of his mother I give unto him a negro girl named Esther and my plantation and claim of Land adjoining the same on which I now live which is all I desire for him exclusive of what he has already had given him which Property he is to be put in possession of at his Mother's departure of this life. In witness whereof I hereunto Subscribe my name and acknowledge this to be my last will and testament this 29th day of May 1815
