Notes for Addison W. McNabb

1. Addison W. McNabb was a carpenter, a member of the city council of
Mishawaka, and a school custodian.
2. Military: 21st Lt. Artil, Ind., Civil War.( Enlisted o Aug 18, 1862 in
South Bend, along with his brother Ezra McNabb.)
3. Addison McNabb met his future wife, Sarah Rupel while he was
recovering from small pox during the Civil War. He had been returned to
South Bend, and was provided a billet at the Oliver House, a hotel in
downtown South Bend that had been converted into a military hospital
during the war. Sarah Rupel was employed at the hotel.
4. Addison McNabb found employment in South Bend at the newly opened
Singer Sewing Machine Company. The Singer plant made wooden cases and
cabinets.
