Hannah is a beautiful addition to our family. She is spunky enough to
keep up with my two toddlers -Tyler and Alix, tough enough to keep up with Brett -our 1 1/2 year old male Labrador Retriever and loving enough to be my little snuggler.
I wasn't really shopping for another puppy the day I came across her picture on the internet. But, something just tugged at me saying -- "there's some space left just for her on your king-sized bed." From that moment, I began preparing my family for her to arrive. My first e-mail from Alexa Brink was very pleasant and informative. All of my questions were answered and left me feeling confident that my puppy would be starting her life in a secure and loving environment.
I was very nervous and excited the day she was to arrive at the airport.
All day long I was thinking of her and how she was being treated. I started out just going by myself to pick her up. But, then I felt like the whole family should be there to greet her. What an exciting experience for my kids! "Hannah is coming home today!", they sang in the car all the way to the airport. My first peek at her in the cage was one of curiosity and relief. She was so tiny in her cage. But, she had a sweet look about her that calmed me and made me feel like I had made the right choice.
Since she's been home, she has become fast friends with Brett. He lets her crawl all over him, gives her baths and they run together in the yard.
Tyler and Alix think she's the greatest as she chases them around the house and cuddles with them for a after-dinner movie. My favorite things about Hannah are the little kisses she gives me when I hold her close and the way she snuggles her face in my neck as I carry her. She has a wonderful, sweet personality and is tons of fun to play with and watch.
Thanks to the Brink family for allowing us to feel confident our little Hannah is healthy and happy. It was a real pleasure getting to know you and we hope to keep in touch for many years to come on Hannah's life experiences with our family.

UPDATE: March 21, 2005
Happy Monday, Alexa & Family.
Today was a great day for Hannah and the entire family! We got ready after breakfast and took Brett and Hannah to the big park. It was a beautiful day. We walked the trail, played at the playground and even stopped for lunch! Hannah is great on a leash and enjoys taking daily walks around the neighborhood, so you can imagine what fun it was for her to go to a huge park where she could explore, run and play with the kids and Brett.
We started crate training her on Saturday. She is doing very well. We bought another crate that is all open and has a latch door. We put toys in there and an old flat pillow. She already expects a treat when she uses the potty outside and when she enters the crate for "quiet time." We allow her to play in the kitchen and living area for breakfast time and dinner time. Other than that, she's either in the crate or outside playing with us. She doesn't cry too much anymore unless she sees myself or Josh walk out of the room she's in and she knows it's not bedtime. But, it only takes her a few minutes to settle. I make sure Brett's bed is right next to her crate when we move it into our room @ night. As long as he's right there, she goes to sleep pretty quick.
I returned the muzzle and exchanged it for a few more toys that are designed for puppies to chew on. I taught the kids to offer them to her instead of reaching for her with their hands. It's been working pretty well so far. I'm still working on them not screaming or laughing at her when she jumps at them or barks at them. We have been working with her on fetching and she is learning very fast. She's like an energizer bunny... she just keeps going!!
Every time I take her for a walk, people stop and say how pretty she is. The neighborhood kids know her by name and they wave to her as they ride by on their bicycles. Her favorite place to play is under Tyler's bed and her favorite toy seems to be the fuzzy purple & white bone that squeaks. Unfortunately, Brett ate up her orange bone she had when she arrived. We replaced that with another orange bone and I'm afraid it has been missing for a few days now, too. Probably under something! ha!
