FANTASTIC BROWNIE COOKIES

One Bowl Chocolate Brownie Cookies by Mary Sivright 5.3.97

6 squares Bakers Semi-Sweet Baking Chocolate (1oz squares)
4 squares Bakers?Unsweetened Baking Chocolate (1oz squares)
6 Tablespoons (3/4 stick) Butter or margarine
1-1/4 cups white sugar
3 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla (optional)
1 cup white flour unsifted
1 teaspoon Baking Powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups toasted chopped walnuts (optional)

1. Heat over to 325*F
2. Toast walnuts in heavy skillet at low heat on top of stove.
3. Microwave semi-sweet and unsweetened chocolate and butter in large microwavable bowl on HIGH 1-1/2 to 2 minutes or until chocolate is almost melted, stirring halfway through heating time. Stir until chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
4. Stir sugar into chocolate mixture until blended. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in nuts.
5. Dough will be soft. Drop by rounded tablespoons, 1-1/2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.
6. Bake 12 minutes or until set. DO NOT OVERBAKE. Cool 5 minutes; remove from cookie sheet. Cool completely on wire racks.
7. Store in airtight container. Makes about 36 cookies.
8. Frost with canned chocolate frosting in desired. Mix a little instant coffee into frosting for Mocha Brownie Cookies or peanut butter for Peanut Butter Brownie Cookies. Store loosely covered after being frosted or they will become soft.
