Eulogy

1. Care passionately about your family and friends.

2. Have the ability to laugh at yourself.

3. Trust your intuition.

4. Its OK to get angry for a short time and then...

5. Don't hold grudges.

6. Know that your work is important and worth doing right.

7. Ignorance in the missile business is our enemy - not another person or organization.

8. Ask for as many dollars as you can get away with - the project will eventually be larger than first envisioned.

9. Not likely that anyone else can do it as well as I would if I had time therefore:

10. Trust others' work if it can be verified independently.

11. Don't trust simulation results - even your own - unless there is an independent corroboration... test test test.

12. Prime contractor engineers are no better or worse than government engineers.

13. Don't let the "configuration control" guys stop your real work.

14. Nothing we do is as important as some managers might want us to believe.

15. Be tough and smart enough so that others don't take you or your work for granted.

16. If all else fails go to number 1 and start over.
