The Testicle

It was another great Ragbrai day. Sunny, no wind, and a great group of guys to ride with. We ride into a town and stop off at the first bar on the left. Now if your a Red Dog, and you are not riding with the pack, and you come into a town, the way you meet back up with the pack is by going into the first bar on the left unless it is on the right! One of the things you look for in a bar is some space! When 15,000 riders come into a town, there isn't much room in bars. This bar had a nice wide room, and in the corner of the bar was a big table that could sit 10 riders. Michelle, Lisa, Mel, Craig and Jim from the Plungers and Rich, Neil, Wendy, and I were all sitting at this large table. A rider from the another club that we know sees us and comes over. This guy is a very strong rider and fun to be with. As he is walking over, I look with astonishment at what I think I see hanging out of his riding shorts. I look at the group around the table, and they see the same thing I see. We all bust out laughing and when he comes over to the table, I see that he is a little scratched up! I asked, "What happened to you!" He tells us a story about the crash he had on the ride so far today but no one says a thing about his left nut hanging out! There are no chairs left so he is standing by us at the table. We buy him and his buddy a beer and we talk for around a half hour before he is ready to get back on the road again. The whole time he is standing there with his left nut hanging out. When he is about ready to leave, I ask if he always rides with one nut out and one nut in. He looks down and with this great big grin on his face he asked if it was out the whole time and we all say and laugh yes. He said that during the crash, when he flew over his handlebars, that he must of caught his riding shorts and tore them. Then while riding, a nut must have fallen out. We buy him another round for the road and off he goes with this big grin on his face. We think ------------ Only on the RAGBRAI can this happen!
