OFFICERS AND BOARD OF DIRECTORS’ MEETING MINUTES

September 3, 2009 

1. OPENING REMARKS: Jon Simms called the meeting to order at 11:30 A.M.  The meeting convened at Joint Personal Property Shipping Office, San Antonio

5.  SECRETARY’S REPORT (Paul Davis):  The Secretary’s Report was accepted as written.

6.   TREASURER’S REPORT (Cindy Holliday):   Adam provided the Treasurer’s Report.  The report was accepted as presented.

7.  COMMITTEE REPORTS:  (No reports for Awards, Bowling, Budget, Scholarship, Nominating, and Transportation Week at this time.)  

a.       Audit:  (Chet Teel)  Chet completed the audit of the books and reported that everything looked great.  It flowed well making it very easy to do this year. 

b.      Programs: (Jim McGovern) Jim reconfirmed with General Patrick’s secretary regarding him being the guest speaker for the January NDTA General Membership meeting.  Mr. Mike Kadivnik from FEDEX will be the guest speaker at the October General Membership Meeting. 

c.       Social (Debbie Arnold)  No report at this time. 

d.      A-35 (Regina Green)  Shaun Maurer advised we are looking at either doing something for the Fisher House at Lackland AFB, or the Wounded Warrior Program for our community project in November.  More to come. 

e.       Golf (Mary Hall):  Harry Reese advised that things are on track with the Golf tournament.  There are currently 20 teams signed up and $800.00 have been received from hole sponsors so far.  The team to handle the registration and other administrative duties at the tournament is ready to go.  National Air Cargo donated a golf bag to include as a door prize, and J.R. Williams from GEICO will be donating the grab bags.  Richard Pearson advised that Central Transportation System will be sponsoring the Hole-In-One prizes.  He is also pursuing a gift certificate for a round of golf at The Quarry Golf Course as another door prize. 

f.        Marketing (Adam Pincus): Adam announced there is still $668.98 available in the Marketing fund.  Still have 20 caps available.  He will bring them to the Golf Tournament and have them available for sale. 

g.       Membership (Victor Wherry) Victor advised the membership currently stand at 162. He has contacted all the persons on the expired list. 

h.       Welfare (Richard Pearson) Richard advised there is nothing to report at this time.

8.  OLD BUSINESS:  Constitution By-Laws.  After discussion, motion was made to send to membership, recommendation to delete first sentence in item j, Article II of the Constitution By-Laws, as it is covered in the previous paragraph (item i).  Motion seconded and carried.  Chet advised that Amended Article IX, Section 1(b). reflects”…..…..” indicating continuation of the paragraph in the original Constitution.  The board agreed to table until the information could be obtained and reviewed from the original.

9.  NEW BUSINESS:  Jon Simms advised that the NDTA Forum is coming up and asked if the Board had any issues or concerns that he needed to address at the Forum.  Harry Reese requested he find out from National how they are addressing the “Transporter” identity within the distribution system.

Next Membership Event: NDTA Scholarship Golf Tournament on 11 Sep 09 at Randolph Oaks Golf Course. 

Meeting was adjourned at 1230 p.m.
