He162 Cockpit

Port side overview of the cockpit. Stenciling reads Außenbordsteckdose im Bugradraum which translates to External electrical connection in nose wheel well.

View of the rear hinge, and the mounting system for the dash. Note the ventilation holes along the front edge of the windscreen.

Starboard side of the cockpit, featuring radio and electrical switch controls. Note also the signal flare pistol port next to the small rectangular FuG25a control box. The harness is not original.

The port side featuring the throttle and trim and flap controls. Just in front of the stick and below the instrument panel can be seen a window for visually checking that the nose wheel was fully deployed. The handle of the ejection seat can also be seen. Since the cannons have been removed from this aircraft, bags of weight have been added to the cockpit floor to keep the plane balanced.

The ejection seat; note that the harness is not original. Detailed photos can be found at the Ejection Site.
Photos of a restored instrument panel can be found here.
