The Notchback's E.F.I.. Installation
An ongoing look at how the fuel injection system is progressing
I am currently using a Haltech F9A brain with a completely
custom wire harness and plennun.
The throttle body is off a 2.8L GM V6.
This page will be updated as I find time, pix, and milestones for it
dog food bowl This is the "guts" of a T3 F.I. fuel tank. It keeps the fuel around the pick-up tube to minimize any chance of the pump sucking air and causing a lean condition. An important item.
see the stuff in the bottom This is the top view. you can see the two holes in the bottom of it, a suction (supply) and a return.
This is the grafting of the latter F.I. tank bottom into my early tank. A bit more work than just slapping a return any old place. The graft will be tig welded then sealed with POR gas tank sealer.
the pressure guy.  This is a 944 EFI pump. Mounts just like a stock T3. Used a coil bracket on the T3 mounts. Check valve in banjo bolt, from a Golf. Vanagon fuel filter has the correct size spuds and fits the T3 filter bracket.
I luv spagetti This is the start of the wiring harness, about 2/3s of the wires are here.  Trying to locate where everything should be so the wires will be there, too.
crazy stuff   What fun this is. Got the GM throttle body mounted and now trying to make the throttle linkage. My biggest requirement is that it use a stock cable. It has to turn a corner plus operate the opposite turning GM TB. To be continued.
Back in the rear trunk under the package tray is where the engine control unit resides. the relays with it are for O2 sensor power, oil cooler fan, shift light, and injector power. All are controlled by the Haltech brain.  You can also see a bit of the stereo installation in there, too.
