Amy, Boris, Brownie, Cassie, Bear & Trixie

Amy: Amy, a petite, dark chocolate, arrived with her companion, Rachel, with suspicious hair loss around her lower belly - most likely due to urine burn.  The woman who dropped them was a East Coast truck driver who tried, during her brief visits to her brother's family, to properly care for this sweet, little pair of four year old girls.   Amy, the slighter of the two, is also showing the early symptoms of an adrenal tumor. amy5s.jpg (2408 bytes)

Boris: Boris lost his best friend, Mr. Ferret, a gentle sweetheart who was also in the Foster Program. Boris is opposite in temperament – he’s a big albino bully!

Brownie: A chocolate boy, Brownie was dropped off by a young deaf couple along with his friend, Snowy. Sadly, pretty little Snowy did not live long after being transferred into their new Foster home – we believe she may have had an underlying cancer that the stress of too many moves too soon suddenly worsened. Brownie is a sweetheart who has slowly learned to live without his buddy. brownie.jpg (5327 bytes)

Cassie: Definitely an Alpha female! Cassie had a great deal of pattern hair loss when she arrived, a symptom of adrenal disease. She had exploratory surgery but the location of the tumors – attached to a main artery – made it impossible to safely remove. She also had some uterine tissue remaining, which was removed and has improved her health and the vulva swelling she was experiencing.

Bear: Despite the name, Bear is a platinum silver girl of about 6 years.  Bear had been found wandering the streets in Hartford.  The woman who took her in was headed off to jail (!), though at least, she had gotten her shots and had her checked by a vet. Bear is blind and may also have an adrenal tumor. With her "checkered past" we want to wait and see her comfortable before exposing her to the rigors of surgery. bear4.jpg (2256 bytes)

Trixie: Our friend Trixie is a beautiful little chocolate blaze, who is also, like most blazes, deaf. But that doesn't stop her from a very active life-style! About 3 1/2 or 4, Trixie was placed in the foster program because of both her (albeit minor) disability and her soon to be required adrenal surgery. Outgoing and mischieveous, Trixie is a little doll!
