Membership Campaign

Each year, AFSA recruits members through its field organization and through headquarters marketing initiatives. AFSA conducts an annual campaign designed to increase its membership. As a part of this campaign, the association recognizes the recruiting and retention efforts of its field recruiters. To foster competition and reward top achievers, AFSA Headquarters tallies the numbers of recruits and retention continuously and reports these results to the field organizations biweekly.

The AFSA bi-annual membership campaign periods are: from January 1 through June 30 and from July 1 through December 31 each year. Awards for achievement and special recognition are presented for both campaigns at the AFSA International Convention. Membership Categories For campaign purposes, AFSA designates memberships into three categories:

• Recruit: An individual who has never been a member of AFSA or the Auxiliary, or an individual whose membership has terminated.
• Retention: An individual who renews his/her membership before the expiration date or prior to the 6lst day after the expiration date.
• Terminated Member: An individual who did not renew his/her membership before the 6lst day after the expiration date. If a terminated member is renewed by a current member, he/she will be counted as a recruit.
