PILOT CLASS 43-D SCHOOLS

In the fall of 1942, 9,896 cadets began Primary Flight Training, to become Pilots, in three training commands:
Southeast at Maxwell AFB, near Montgomery, AL.
Gulf Coast at San Antonio, TX. at what is now Lackland AFB. (Actual Admin. HQ was at Randolph AAF, TX. near San Antonio.)
And West Coast, at Santa Ana, CA.

29th Flying Training Wing, 
at Greenville Aviation School, Ocala, Florida. 
Greenville Aviation School was a civilian flight school on contract to the 
Army Air Forces Flying Training Command (AAFFTC) to provide flight instruction for the military.
