Remembering Dino & Pebbles
Dino and Pebbles. They were very much siamese. Very talkative. Very curious. Very intelligent.
From the beginning, the two littermates made their impression on the household. They set the daily schedule, the daily routine. They designated who their personal assistant would be, tending to their every need, want, and desire. Certainly not spoiling by any stretch of the imagination. More like saying they were in charge ... like early breakfast, served around 1:30 am.
Or, taking over a piece of furniture after their respective spots were "warmed up."
In their kitten days, they were a bundle of energy. Playing chase was their favorite. Of course, there were games of hunting for crickets. When a cricket was found, Dino or Pebbles would come running with the cricket in their mouth. The other would have to wait their turn to play with the exotic critter. After both were finished, they went back out into the patio to look for another cricket. The poor, abandoned cricket had to be taken outside and set free. On occasion, an even more exotic creature, known as a sock, would be found and wrestled to the ground. Unfortunately, the sock offered very little resistance.
They each had their own individual preferences. Pebbles enjoyed the taste of fresh canola oil and needed a little plate everyday. Also, she had her own place on the dining table to have taste of that evening's meal. Anything grilled was preferred, but she enjoyed her fried fish and fried chicken tenders. Her most favorite was ground beef.
Dino, on the otherhand, was much easier. His most favorite treat was premium fish flakes and Star Kist Tuna. On occasion, he would have BH Chicken, BH Turkey, or BH Black Forest Ham. In his last four months, Dino developed a taste for fresh canola oil.
Christmastime was their most favorite time of year. As kittens, it was the draw of the tree. Perhaps, they could climb it or scratch it. Much better was the ornaments, especially the lower ones. The first couple of Christmases, an ornament or two could be found on the carpet every morning. As they became older, the lights was the main attraction. Dino could be found under the lit tree, enjoying the many colors. Pebbles wanted to pull off a colored light or two (or three), probably to see if they had a different taste. And, presents ... they needed to be opened as soon as they were placed under the tree.
Dino and Pebbles certainly left their mark, leaving behind fond memories and good times that will be remembered. Their individual personalities complemented each other very well. Dino, easy going and good natured. Pebbles, independent and cautious. Both dedicated to their person.
We are very much blessed to have earned their stamps of approval, and for gracing us with their presence.
Rest well, our babies.
