About Us
(We who are owned by the cats)

David and his parents are the two-generation human family Dino and Pebbles live with in Security, Colorado. David works from home as a data consultant while his parents are fully retired. Each of us have our own activities and interests that keeps us busy. It's a good, sound relationship that works for all. In many ways, quite symbiotic. Appearances have no place, nor are they important. What's important is enjoying life --- the cat philosophy at work! To Dino and Pebbles, we're all cats. "Cats one, cats all!"
Since Dino and Pebbles began living with us, the amount of cat stuff we have has increased significantly. Cat needlecraft works adorn many of the walls. Cat figurines. A proud display of pictures of Dino and Pebbles. There's something "cat" in every room, and we're not talking about a physical cat presence. Definitely, we are cat household with Dino and Pebbles very much in charge.

For those of you not familiar with Colorado, Security is a bedroom community a few minutes south of Colorado Springs. And, Colorado Springs, itself, is roughly 65 miles south of Denver. There are several landmarks of note around the region. Most noticeable, of course, is Pikes Peak, which lies to the west. Pikes Peak is the only 14,000-foot peak on the Colorado front range. The other 14,000-foot peaks in the state are located closer to the continental divide. It was at the summit of Pikes Peak, when in 1893, Katherine Lee Bates composed the poem, "America, The Beautiful."
Also, to the west, but within the city limits of Colorado Springs, is The Garden of The Gods. The garden is composed of red-rock formations that were created in a huge geological upheaval during the formation of the Rocky Mountain chain. And, to the north, is the US Air Force Academy.

The community of Security began in the mid-1950s when a few, modest homes were built. Back then, it was very rural - alfalfa fields and a few farms. By the late 1950s and early 1960s, many more homes were built. It soon became a small community of modest, affordably-priced homes. Self contained a bit, with a couple of shopping centers. Organized enough to sustain a fire protection district, but no need or desire for a town government.
Over the years, Security has seen its share of rapid growth with the region as a whole. There are many more homes, more traffic, more roads, and a few more problems. Much of the "ruralness" of the past has disappeared. Several more shopping centers and strip malls. And, the once-discrete distance between Colorado Springs and Security is hardly noticeable now.
Regardless, it's a good place to live with cats. Meow, meow.
