Youth Opportunities and Employment Internship Programs
ACDP serves as the host for interns through a year-round Youth Opportunities Program sponsored by New York State Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities. Interns receive a stipend, training and supervision in placements. The Audubon Ballroom Youth Mental Health Project serves as a registration, placement and supervision site for Summer Youth Employment Program workers. In 1998, ACDP guided 247 students through the application process and served as a placement site for 49 students. SYEP workers helped to staff the summer camp, served 6500 meals at ACDP’s Highbridge Summer meals project, and assisted at the HIV/AIDS program and the Audubon Ballroom Youth Mental Health Project.
