Aikido 2A3 SE

Home

This is a catch-up posting of an amp completed some time ago.
So just a few pix and words on this one.
My camera was giving fits during this period, so the photos aren't too good.

This amp uses the Aikido input/driver stage as explained on my other 2A3 page.
This particular version uses a 12AX7 input tube in the Aikido SRPP configuration followed by a 6CG7 applying the Aikido drive to the 2A3 grid and noise cancellation. As my other Aikido 2A3's, this uses the output transformers from Transcendar.

This chassis is solid copper and then powder coated in satin black.
Above you can see an interior detail shot centered on the Aikido circuit.
In this case, instead of using a helper board for wiring the circuit as before, I use all point-to-point construction. Overall the Aikido circuit is not difficult to wire up once a sure-footed layout is planned.

I build Aikido 2A3 amps to order. The layout can be symetrical or one-sided. I provide both 4 and 8 ohm output taps (only). Input jacks may be located on the rear panel or near the input tubes. The Aikido built using my standard clear-anodized heavy-duty aluminum with side panels in natural or finished pine or oak (or painted) is only $900. I may consider copper again including natural top finish of copper, contact me for details. Powder coating of the chassis is optional at cost. If you need a 16-ohm version, contact me.
