1 Dec. 2002:    3101     1) Added Nehemiah Royce, b. about 1722, husband of Rhoda Royce, and his male lineage back to Robert Royce of New London, Connecticut. Rhoda Royce was a second cousin once removed of her husband, Robert Royce of New London was their common ancestor. Rhoda was a sister of Abel Royce, who was one of my 6th great-grandfathers.  2) Added Ellen Murray second wife of Henry C. Flanders, who was an older brother of Elizabeth Flanders, wife of Charles Robinson, my great-grandfather.
27 Nov. 2002:    3099     1) Added two generations of ancestors of Elizabeth Pople, wife of Richard Sawtell/Sawtelle, who are ancestors of Elizabeth Flanders, wife of Charles Robinson.  2) Added some details for existing persons, and several more ancestors of Hannah Booth, first wife of Roger(2) Braley. As reported from additional recent research by my cousin Claudia D. Tillman.

Tillman.  2) Added a few more ancestors of Lydia Parmelee (Mrs. David Hitchcock) and enhanced the information on several other of her ancestors as found in a Roots Web World Descendant Chart (WDC) "Descendants of John Parmelee I" and other sources.
21 Nov. 2002:    3067     1) Added portions of four generations of ancestors and ancestral relatives of Lydia Parmelee/Parmlee, wife of Patriot David Hitchcock, as found in two web sites for the Parmelee Family. Revised the preferred spelling of her surname from Parmlee to Parmelee. Also revised the spelling of the middle name of her grandson to William Parmelee Hitchcock.  2) Added portions of six generations of ancestors of Louisa Rich, wife of William Parmelee Hitchcock, as obtained from the Rich Family Association, line of Nicholas Rich.
17 Nov. 2002:    3017     1) Added about thirteen individuals from portions of three generations of ancestors of Florence Lucile Mackey (Mrs. Kenneth Alton Deming) as found in several censuses for 1880 and 1920 of Wapsinonoc Twp., Muscatine Co, IA, and Springdale, Cedar Co., IA, and in the Iowa WPA Grave Registrations.  2) Changed the surnames of Eliza Ann RICE and all her siblings and ancestors from RICE to ROYCE. Eliza Ann used the surname ROYCE when she married Carlton Braley in 1845, and other documents dating from the 1850's show that the family pronounced their name as Royce, Royse or Roice, even though it was often written by census takers and various recorders of vital information as RICE.
13 Nov. 2002:    3004     Added portions of eight generations of ancestors of Eunice Strong Fenn (Mrs. William Riley Deming), mother of George Deming who was the first of my Deming family to arrive in Iowa.
11 Nov. 2002:    2939     Added C. Alonzo Tracy, husband of Ellen J. (Rice) Tracy, and two daughters of this marriage. As found living in the household of Titus Rice and Louisa (Jones) Rice, parents of Ellen J. Rice, in the 1880 Federal Census of Northfield, Washington Co., Vermont.
10 Nov. 2002:    2936     Added three more children to the family of Heber Howard Hitchcock and Sarah J. (Hetherington) Hitchcock and found that their first child was named Clarence (He was identified in the 1875 census only by the initial "C.") and added one child of Heber H. Hitchcock's second wife's first marriage to a Mr. Brown. All as found in the 1880 & 1900 Federal Censuses of Garden & Lola Townships, Cherokee Co., Kansas.
6 Nov. 2002:    2932     1) Added Mary P. (-?-) Jackson, wife of John L. Jackson, and two of their children, including Mabel C. Jackson whose photograph I had previously found. Also revised the probable date of death for William Jackson, as per the 1880 Federal Census of Waterloo, Black Hawk Co., Iowa, where he and his wife Rachel (Hosman) Jackson were living in the household of their son, John L. Jackson.  2) Added Ada L. (Umphrey) Jackson, wife of George S. Jackson, and one daughter, as found in the 1880 Federal Census of Yreka, Siskiyou Co., California, where George's brother William was living with them. John L., George S. and William Jackson were all brothers of my great-grandmother Dell Ann (Jackson) Braley.
5 Nov. 2002:    2927     1) Added Laura R. Dudley, born 1879, as another child of James Dudley and Emily (Cole) Dudley, and confirmed that George W. Dudley was the full name of the G. W. Dudley named as a natural son, in Emily (Cole-Dudley) Hitchcock's 1922 obituary. This as found in the 1880 Federal Census of Elk Falls, Elk Co., Kansas.  2) Added Maud Rice, daughter of Marcus Miner Rice & Caroline Elizabeth (Lewis) Rice, who was accepted by the DAR in the mistaken belief that she was a 2nd great granddaughter of Patriot Hezekiah Rice. She apparently believed that either Silas Rice/Royce or his wife Lois (Graves) Rice/Royce was a child of Hezekiah Rice.
14 Oct. 2002:    2925     1) Revised birth dates and places of William Asher Howard and Alice (Robinson) Howard and added two of their children. As found in the 1920 Federal Census of Minneapolis, Minnesota.  2) Added Abraham Rikardsen who was the father of Rikard Abramsen, second husband of Christi Mikkelsdatter.  3) Changed the name of Mary McDonald Brown, second wife of Heber H. Hitchcock, to Mary L. McDonald, and added a Mr. Brown, who was her previous spouse. She had at least one son with the surname Brown, who was found in the 1900 Federal Census of Lola Twp., Cherokee Co., Kansas, living in the household of Heber H. Hitchcock and Mary L. Hitchcock.
27 Sep. 2002:    2921     1) Changed Mary <Unknown>, spouse of Hugh Thorpe, to Mary Coffin, added her parents, a daughter Lila Thorpe of this couple, and Elsie <Unknown>, the spouse of Murlyn Thorpe, son of Hugh and Mary Thorpe. All as found in the 1860-1920 censuses of Kellogg Twp., Jasper Co., Iowa.  2) Added the parents of Lois Damon, first wife of Hezekiah Royce, and determined that she was not a descendant of Elizabeth, Thomas or John Deming of Wethersfield, Connecticut.
24 Sep. 2002:    2915     1) Added the parents of Einar Burslie, husband of Regina Hanson, as provided by a living granddaughter.  2) Added Rikard/Richard Abrahamsen as the second spouse of Christi Mikkelsdatter and the father of Lise Richardsdatter, aka. Anna Lisa Hanson wife of Morton Hanson, and a half-sister of Christi Larsdatter and Ingeborg Larsdatter. She was formerly thought to be a sister named Anna Lisa (Larsdatter) Hanson, but was discovered with her three children in a Norwegian emigration database with the patronymic name Richardsdatter, i.e. the daughter of Richard.  3) Removed three couples who had no children and no apparent connection to anyone in the database. who had probably been added in error.
7 Sep. 2002:    2913     1) Added portions of six generations of ancestors of Esther Bunnell who was the wife of Benedict Royce, and the mother of Patriot Silas Roys/Royce.  2) Added Einar Burslie/Boerslie the husband of Regina Hanson, see update of 23 Aug. 2002 for more information.
2 Sep. 2002:    2878     1) Added a Mr. Lieberman, who is the husband of Ruth (Rasmussen) Lieberman, a daughter of Anton Ensign Rasmussen & Clara Nateva (Emmons) Rasmussen.  2) Added Mary (Munson) Rasmussen, second wife of Christian Peter Rasmussen and step mother of Anton Ensign Rasmussen. Both additions based on information provided by Alyce Claire (Smith) Rasmussen.
23 Aug. 2002:    2876     Added one child of Anna Lisa Hanson, aka. Elsie (Gise) Larsdatter Dahlen, a sister of Christine Larson (aka. Kirstine Larsdatter, Mrs. H. G. Emmons) and identified the "other child" as Regina Hanson who was raised by Ingeborg Larsdatter Dahlen (Mrs. H. J. Knutson) another sister. The child added was Martin Louris Hanson who probably died about the same time as his mother, shortly after their immigration from Norway in 1877. Per information from a living granddaughter of Regina Hanson.

16 Aug. 2002:    2875     1) Added two additional ancestors and several ancestral relatives of James W. Cole. Revised the spelling of names and family relationships of his ancestors. Changes and additions are based on new information found in a carefully documented recent book by Richard H. Benson, The Barent Jacobsen Cool Family, NEHGS, 2001.  2) Added two husbands and one child of Ester Robinson, daughter of Don Alonzo & Betsey (Conick) Robinson.
10 Aug. 2002:    2859     1) Added vital information for Irene Frances Mander and Margaret Emily Robinson who passed away during July 2002.  2) Added two children of Jared Beecher Hitchcock and Lucy Moulton (Hubbard) Hitchcock and the parents of Lucy Hubbard.
20 July 2002:    2853     1) Revised the order and estimated dates of birth of the children of Silas Rice & Lois (Graves) Rice, and added a son Ira Rice, as per her declaration in connection with obtaining a pension for Silas's service in the Revolutionary War.  2) Added the probable parents of Lois Graves, Daniel Graves & an unknown spouse, and a probable brother, Daniel Graves, Jr., as found living next door to each other in the 1800 census of Springfield, Windsor Co., VT.  3) Added the descendants of Carnot Braley & Susanna Gage to Ellen May Jones and Barbara May Honea, authors of Yankee Stock - Our Colonial Ancestors, as taken from their research.
6 July 2002:    2809     Added the probable parents of William Anson Whitcomb, and the spouses of two of the children of William Anson Whitcomb & Ann (Childs) Whitcomb. Source is a 1912 biography of Daniel W. Whitcomb, their son and a well known 19th and early 20th Century photographer.
25 June 2002:    2804     1) Added the probable parents and siblings of Caroline Grossman, wife of Rev. George B. Hitchcock. Source is documented research done by a descendant of Caroline's probable brother, William H. Grossman, who was living next door to her in the 1880 census of Garden Twp., Cherokee Co., Kansas.  2) Added all known grandchildren, and spouses, of David Hitchcock, Jr. & Caroline (Grossman) Hitchcock, about 18 that were not previously included. Sources are research done by living descendants, Congregational Missionary biographies, census images on Ancestry.com and a Family Group Sheet for the family of Caleb Strong Bassett & Lydia Minerva Hitchcock from the Public Library of Fairfield, Jefferson Co., Iowa.
2 June 2002:    2765     1) Added Estella Stull wife of George W. Dudley, son of Emily S. (Cole) Dudley & James Dudley.  2) Added Floyd Dudley, probable son of William Dudley and an unknown wife, who was adopted by Emily S. (Cole-Dudley) Hitchcock & David M. Hitchcock and lived with them for the censuses of 1900, 1910 and 1920. Emily Cole became the step-mother of William Dudley at her marriage to James Dudley when his son William was about 9 years old.
27 May 2002:    2762     1) Added Seth M. Tucker as the 1st husband of Mary M. Hitchcock and their children through 1861.  2) Added the family of George W. Harmon and an unknown 1st wife, which merged with the family of Mary M. (Hitchcock) Tucker after they married 14 Oct 1866 in Caldwell Co., Missouri.  3) Added the family of James Dudley & his 1st wife, Julian, as it existed before he married 2nd Emily S. Cole 6 Sep 1868 in Cherokee Co., Kansas.  4) Several other revisions and corrections in connection with finding records and census entries for the 1st and 2nd marriages of Mary M. Hitchcock and the 1st marriages of Emily S. Cole and James Dudley, as well as 1900-1920 census entries for the family of David M. Hithcock & Emily S. (Cole-Dudley) Hitchcock, and her obituary.
20 May 2002:    2746     1) Revised the birth dates of Clark & Mary Hitchcock, who were twin children of Caroline (Rogers-Hitckcock) Deming, widow, found in the 1900 Federal Census of Wapsinonoc Twp., Muscatine Co., Iowa.
19 May 2002:    2746     1) Added one child and corrected the names of other children of George W. Harmon & Mary M. (Hitchcock) Harmon, as found in 1870 Federal Census of Lowell Twp., Cherokee Co., Kansas.  2) Added James A. Ozzello the spouse of Theresa Enderle, a descendant of Charles Robinson who corrected my incorrect identification of a photograph.
9 May 2002:    2743     1) Revised the 1782 marriage of Joseph Kelley to Margaret Braley. In Braley Genealogy he is shown as marrying Margaret (Sherman) Braley (then 71), widow of Roger Braley. However, Kelley genealogy research indicates that four children resulted from this marriage, and that he was 36 years old and Margaret Braley was 30 years old at the time of this marriage. I have revised my files to now show that Joseph Kelley/Killey married Margaret Braley, daughter of Roger Braley & Margaret (Sherman) Braley, b. Aug. 18, 1752 in Rochester, MA.  2) Added two children of Margaret Braley, apparently born out-of-wedlock, prior to her marriage to Joseph Kelley.  3) Added the marriage of David Hitchcock, son of George B. Hitchcock & Caroline (Grossman) Hitchcock, to Emily S. Cole, daughter of James W. Cole &: Harriet S. (Hitchcock) Cole, and added her probable first marriage to a Mr. Dudley, because according to her obituary in 1922 she had a surviving son, G. W. Dudley.
4 May 2002:    2739     1) Added the spouses of the children of Gordon T. Mallett & Lydia M. (Hitchcock) Mallett, as found in the DAR records. Two descendants have been granted membership in the DAR based on the service of David Hitchcock, Sr.  2) Added George A. Hall and his 1st wife, Catherine Grossman. Also added the eight children of George A. Hall & his 2nd wife, Ellen Rachel/Rebecca Hitchcock, a daughter of Rev. George Beckwith Hitchcock & Caroline (Grossman) Hitchcock, as reported by a living descendant.
1 May 2002:    2725     1) Added all the children, and their spouses, of Rev. John Wing & Deborah (Bachiler) Wing, who were the ancestors and ancestral relatives of the two Deborah Wings, 2nd cousins who married the Roger Braley who was born 6 April 1724.  2) Added spouses of the children and grandchildren of Rev. George Beckwith Hitchcock & Caroline (Grossman) Hitchcock as found in the 1870, 1875, & 1880 Federal and State Censuses of Cherokee Co., Kansas. Also showing that in 1880 Caroline Hitchcock was living in the household of her son-in-law and daughter, George W. Harmon & Mary M. (Hitchcock) Harmon, in Garden Twp., Cherokee Co., Kansas.  3) Added spouse of Harold Edwin Brailey, Jr. from e-mail correspondence from his living first cousin.
20 Apr. 2002:    2706     1) Updated information on Harold Edwin Brailey, Jr. as a result of obtaining a copy of his original application for a Social Security number, SS-5.  2) Added the spouses of the children of Thomas Deming, and changed the surname of his descendants to Deming.  3) Added six more children to the family of Rev. George Beckwith Hitchcock & Caroline (Grossman) Hitchcock as found in the 1850 Wapello Co. and 1860 Cass Co. Federal Censuses of Iowa.
20 Mar. 2002:    2692     1) Added siblings, spouses & children of siblings of Elizabeth Flanders, daughter of Aziba Flanders and Ruth (Holden) Flanders, as found in the 1850 Census of Shrewsbury, Rutland Co., VT, and in "The Flanders Family: From Europe To America", 2nd ed., 2000.  2) Revised the birth place information and the spelling of the name of Steven1 Flanders, the first member of the Flanders family to emigrate to Colonial America, based on arguments stated in "The Flanders Family:" that he was probably born in the Dutch Netherlands of Belgium/France, aka. Flanders.

10 Mar. 2002:    2648     1) Changed the name of the wife of Robert Royce of New London, CT, from Mary Sims to Mary <Unknown>, because most Royce/Rice researchers do not believe that she was Mary Sims or Syms.  2) Added several spouses of the children of Harlan Justin Failor & Agnes Florence (Braley) Failor, and the children and spouses of Florence Agnes (Failor) Schultz & Vernie Emil Schultz to connect to (Ardith) Diane Schultz-Elliott who is also researching her Braley/Failor ancestors.
21 Feb. 2002:    2633     1) Added several spouses and children of descendants of Samuel May Benight & Mary Elizabeth (Jackson) Benight, to connect to living Benights in California and Idaho.  2) Added several spouses of the children of Gunder Sorensen & Kristi Helgesdatter, as discovered in an unpublished manuscript of Norwegian research into the Olein, Aalein or Emmons family.  3) Added one more child, Benedict Royce, to the children of Benedict Royce & Esther Bunnell.

Pingrey and older brother of Darius Pingery (husband of Emily Cornelia Deming). Also added the 13 siblings of Darius Pingrey, children of Jacob W. Pingrey & Olive (Proctor) Pingrey. Error caused by misreading of 1860 census image.  2) Added two children (and their spouses) of Allen Joseph Lamb & Alma Hendee (Braley) Lamb, ancestors of a Lamb/Braley researcher.

Braley.  2) Added an unknown spouse and two probable daughters of Lewis Horsman, a son of William Horsman and Rachel (Pickering-Lupton) Horsman, as found in the 1850 Ohio Census.  3) Added Hannah Wright, the spouse of Joseph Horsman, a step son of Rachel (Pickering-Lupton) Horsman.
18 Jan. 2002:    2578     1) Added one spouse of a son of Samuel May Benight & Mary Elizabeth Jackson.  2)Added four children, and one of their spouses, to the family of Charles Wesley Benight & Matilda Jane Smith. Charles is a brother of Samuel May Benight and ancestor of Lynnette Renae (Clark) Davis who has been very helpful in providing information on the Benight family connections.

11 Jan. 2002:    2567     1) Added many children, and several of their spouses, of Robert Royce & Mary Sims, Samuel Royce & Hannah Churchill, Samuel Royce & Hannah Benedict and Abel Royce & Joanna Beach, who had been previously lumped together.  2) Added the parents of Guy Ross Benight, father-in-law of Mary E. Jackson, who is a sister of Dell Ann Jackson (Mrs. Alson H. Braley).
8 Jan. 2002:    2504     1) Removed the supposed ancestors of Elizabeth, wife of Matthias Hitchcock and revised his probable birth location.  2) Added the families of the two probable brothers of Matthias Hitchcock, Edward and Luke, and their unidentified parents.
7 Jan. 2002:    2500     1) Added Jane Pabodie Stanley as the wife of Albert Cullen Hitchcock, who are ancestors of Lilah Pengra.  2) Changed the surname of the wife of Matthias Hitchcock from Nichols to <Unknown>, since there is no proof that she was Elizabeth Nichols.  3) Detached Lars Aslesen as an unlikely son of Asle Narvesen and Kjersti Olsdatter.  4) Added Caroline (-?-) Braley, wife of Bruce L. Braley, and their three children.
2 Jan. 2002:    2495     1) Changed the name of the mother of John Deming, b. 1615, from Elizabeth Gilbert to <Unknown>, since there is no proof of her name.  2) Added Martha Hosman/Horsman as the seventh child of Levi Hosman/Horsman and Mary (Wilson) Hosman. Source: Judy Knox, a descendant of Isaac Hosman, brother of Levi Hosman.  3) Added the given name of the wife of Harold Edwin Brailey and the birth date of Harold Edwin Brailey, Jr., as found in the 1920 Federal Census, Pomfret, Windsor Co., Vermont.
