AHS Reunion October 2009

Calling all AUGSBURG APACHES! The 2009 reunion has been finalized. We tried to make this very simple and relaxed so you can participate as much or as little as you want. Please plan on joining us! WHEN:  October 9th – 11th, Friday – Sunday, 2009.

WHERE:  Shepherdstown, West Virginia (approximately 50 miles west of the Washington, DC area)

ACCOMMODATIONS:  We have two hotels ready to take your reservations. IT IS CRITICAL THAT YOU RESERVE EARLY AND MAKE SURE YOU TELL THEM YOU ARE PART OF THE AUGSBURG AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL 1960’S REUNION. I have included the websites but it would be best to call so you can specify the reunion.

• Bavarian Inn – www.bavarianinnwv.com  - #304-876-2551 – room rates start at $185.00 plus tax because it is a holiday weekend. Plenty of rooms are available but they fill quickly.

• Comfort Inn - www.comfortinnshepherdstown.com  - #304-876-3160 – room rate is $82.00 plus tax. We have 15 rooms reserved. Also note that this hotel is about 2 miles from the Bavarian Inn.

HOSPITALITY:  We have a hospitality room at the Bavarian Inn for both Friday and Saturday. We anticipate that it will be open Friday and Saturday in the late afternoons and evenings . There will be some snacks, some beer and soda, BUT you should plan on bringing any wine or hard liquor with you as there may not be nearby places to buy it.

DINNER: We plan on having dinner at the Bavarian Inn both Friday and Saturday nights. The Inn has several restaurants so we’ll be able to vary the menus.

ACTIVITIES:  Check out the hotel websites for available activities. They have many first rate resort activities as well as historic site tours, etc. You’re on your own for all activities unless you choose to join us for the Gettysburg tour mentioned below.

AGENDA:

• Friday, October 9th – arrival – hospitality room at the Bavarian Inn open at 4:00pm – 11:00pm with dinner at 7:00;

• Saturday, October 10th – Those interested in seeing Gettysburg meet in the lobby of the Bavarian Inn at 9:00 am. We will car pool to Gettysburg with Al and Brenda Monshower as our tour guides. Hospitality room will be open around 4:00pm-11:00 pm with dinner at 7:00pm.

• Sunday, October 10th – departure
