Attended Augsburg: I was
there from 1968-1971. I just loved the sense of camaraderie we had. Since then,
I've never again felt so close to people I wasn't related to. What great memories this has stirred in me. Hanging
out, eating ketchup drenched fries at the "snack bar", AYA dances,
the Falls, carnival, beer fests, trips to Garmisch and on and on.
Thanks. Since leaving Augsburg: I've
done many things since then. I've spent 3 years in the Army and ended up
back in Germany. When I came back to the US I ended up working for The
Boeing Co.... for 21 years. I started out as an Electronics Tech. however, I
went back to school to finish the degree I started before going in the Army.
I majored in Business and in....are you ready for this?... Medieval English
Literature...yeah I know, but I really enjoy reading Beowulf, Sir Gwain and
the Green Knight and all that other Arthurian romance stuff. To make matters worse, I also liked school so much that I decided to go on
to Law School. After that, I left the engineering field and worked with the
New Business Dept. for Boeing, (It took 3 1/2 years of Law School to figure
out that didn't like being a lawyer). In my new job I was required to travel
extensively throughout the US and overseas. But, a couple of years ago, I
quit Boeing to become a consultant. I didn't like that too much and went
back to working a regular job running a New Business Dept for a computer company. During all that, I managed to stay married to the same woman (26
years). It had some serious downs, but it was also balanced by equally
serious ups. We think we're OK now. I was lucky enough to have 3 beautiful
daughters. They are now 25, 24, and 17. I also have two granddaughters and
as of last week, a grandson...finally another male to commiserate with. Oh
yeah, and for those who might be interested, I still draw and paint. And
when I feel so inclined I even sell my babies, er...um.. I mean drawings,
but I prefer to give my art away. That way, I don't feel the pressure to
produce on demand precluding complaints about being too slow to deliver. For
a short while I even made a living at it, but you know the drill...kids,
mortgage, etc. required a steady paycheck. Also, my wife is also a talented
artist. She wins almost every contest she enters. Her last name is also
Avery even before I met her even her first name initial is the same,
Patricia. Quite a coincidence, since our last names aren't Jones or Smith.
All in all, I consider myself very lucky in life, most of it has been good
and so far, it still is.

Attended Augsburg: 1968-1971
Graduated from AAHS: 1971
Favorite Augsburg memory: AAHS and the time spent in Augsburg is the fondest memories in my life. I think
the best memories I have was AYA, going to the "Candy Club" down town,
time spent at the guest house drinking beer with friends, and the AAHS
wrestling team. Friends I am trying to locate:
Greg Lewindowski, Debbie De Groff Since leaving Augsburg: I joined
the service about 10 months after high school and got stationed in Augsburg from
1972-1976. I got married to a very lovely young lady who has been my loving wife
of 25 years. Stayed in the service for 10 years. Got out and have done almost
everything and anything. For the last 15 years I have worked as a Project and
Development Manager for Bonny MT Enterprises. We manufacture and distribute
wedding gowns in the United States and can be seen at
WWW.bonny.com.
I have one fantastic daughter who attends Cal-State University Fullerton here in
California. I still miss Augsburg very much. It truly became my home town!
