Since Augsburg I entered the Army and was stationed at Fort Bragg N.C. 82nd
ABN for 41/2 years. During that time I was married to Andrea Schmick
class of 92. We then moved to Vicenza Italy were I was stationed for
3yrs. I am currently out of the military and working towards a
teaching degree. Andrea is working at Dexter H.S. as a German teacher.

years in the Army as a Medic and got stationed in Wurzburg-loved it!I
then returned to the states and finished college. I am now a Language
Arts and Social Studies teacher in a GREAT school in Northern
Michigan.I am married to a wonderful husband-we have two dogs and no
kids-yet anyway--we love to travel, boat, waterski and snowmobile..

Comments: As I am sure you know, the last class graduated June '98 from AAHS. I
graduated in 1991 from AAHS and my mother (a civilian working out at Gabligen
as a computer securities specialist) gave me a copy of the graduation program.
Every year since I graduated with the exception of 1996, I returned to
Augsburg every Christmas. It was amazing to see how desolate the once lively
school had become.
Every time I went back, I visited AAHS and spoke with former teachers and gave
advice to students on college life, etc. The last class had less than 20
students which is small even for AAHS in which my graduating class had 52
students.
Well, I just wanted to give a small update. I attended AAHS from 1988-1991 and
consider Augsburg my home. The members of the Augsburg community present
during the shutdown went to Darmstadt where my mother now is and where the
units left in Augsburg have gone.

Favorite Augsburg Memory: Augsburg is the
most wonderful place I've ever lived. Between the teachers, the staff,
and even the other students, AAHS was a very special place. It's hard
to pin down a favorite memory because they're all so good, but maybe
it was watching the production of Bye Bye Birdie. (with Seth Davidson
as Birdie)
It was more the day to day pace of life that made Augsburg so
wonderful rather than specific events. It breaks my heart that it's
closed now, and I'd love to hear from any old friends. We can sit
around and wax nostalgic about the "good ole days"!
Oh, Dr. Harrison and the Scrivens and Puseys would be among my
favorite memories. I loved them all!

I'm working as a wicked evil financial aid counselor at the Savannah
College of Art and Design. If anyone's ever in Savannah, give me a

was tiny, but I liked it that way. Everybody knew everybody, and even though
were were all in each other's business, at least it was good business! ;) I
loved the soccer trips and the pretzels at lunch.

from Clemson in Architectural Design in 1995, but decided that wasn't what I
wanted to do, so I got a job running the computer systems at the university

Favorite Augsburg Memory: My best
memories are my Cheerleading days at AAHS. I miss the road trips, and the
games...ahh, those were the days. What sticks out, though, would be
the first/only year I tried out for Soccer, made the Varsity Team, and
twisted my ankle before the first real game. Not the best start for
me, but other things came.

Since leaving Augsburg: I currently
living in Florida, and have found the loves of my life, my daughter and
nephew. In November I started my own business as a Process Server in
Volusia County (serving legal documents). As a family, we hope to branch off
into Bail Bonds, while keeping up with Dad's Martial Arts business.
Comments: I really appreciate this site.
I have found people I have talked to since 1993. I can't wait to hear from
more. Thank you so much.

Favorite Augsburg Memory: I was there since 6th grade.
I loved it there, alot more than here. I graduated from there, went to college for a few years,
now I am in the military, as a computer specialist (SrA), I am getting out soon because I got a senior scholarship
to Basketball and Soccer at New Mexico State University. I will do that and then return to the military as an officer,
doing sports medicine.
I miss all of you guys and I am glad just to see some of your names, Heather, Matt (both) Ara, I miss all of you guys.

Favorite Augsburg Memory: I was in the student government for three years. Junior Class President, Was
on the Augsburg Otters, and on the Mock Trials of Mrs. King's Law class. Won
3rd in Europe for the Legion's Oritorical contest. A poet too.. most fav
memory.. my mother doing the mickeymouse club closing song.. she is one of the
mouseketeers by the way Karen Baker, and also getting pulled out of CTBS prep
classes to write a poem for the principal for the renaissance assembly which
he read to the whole school! Also three times to the EFSL Swim champs..

Favorite Augsburg Memory: I moved to Augsburg as a Freshmen and
left the summer before my Senior year to North Carolina. My fondest memories are of all the friends and people
I know from there (seriously, the school was so small it just
about includes everyone).
Since leaving Augsburg:
I graduated from Western Harnett High School in North Carolina and was reunited with Chris Yates.
I went off on a full scholarship out to Flagstaff, Arizona to attend Northern Arizona University as an Engineering Major.
Right now as I'm typing this I'm in Nevada visiting my parents over the summer.

Favorite Augsburg Memory:
I attended AHS for my four high school years. I played tennis (3 years), basketball (1) and soccer (1).
As my fellow classmates have already stated, my favorite memory of AHS is the great friends I had there,
students and teahers. Luckily I have kept in touch with some of them. If you want, send me an email

Since leaving Augsburg:
After graduation in '99 I went on to attend Washington College in Chestertown, MD. I am still here with two more years to go. My major is biology. My parents still live in Germany, they moved to Stuttgart.
So, if you need something from Augsburg, let me know, my mom still visits there all the time.
