Larry Bush '63
Attended Augsburg: 1956-1959
Graduated: 1963, but not from AAHS
Favorite Augsburg memory:   Lived in Cramerton from 1956-1959.  Played football, went to the religious retreats in Garmish and to the band festivals in Munich.  My favorite memory was all the times I had there and all the people with whom I was able to meet.  I will never be able to replace any of them.

Since leaving Augsburg: Left Augsburg and my dad went to Ft Bragg, NCI Graduated there in 1962, Got married the first time in 1963, moved to Baltimore Maryland, spent 6 years there then went in to the service  (ARMY of course) in 1969.  Spent 23 years and retired.  was in the Signal Corp, during the whole time.  Retired E-7 at Ft Ritchey Maryland in 1992.  Bummed around and worked till I wound up in The Atlanta area.  Been here since 1994, Bought a home, Remarried in 1977.  Have 3 children and work for Global Crossings telecommunications as an electronics Technician.

Favorite Augsburg memory:   I spent three wonderful years at AHS.  I remember good times at Fryer Circle, sledding on the golf course, biking to the River Lech, camping out, illicit visits to the gasthouses, Mr. Johanson, Miss Gunderson in Biology and PE, AYA, lots of good clean fun.

Since leaving Augsburg:   Graduated from Wake Forest University,  joined the Peace Corps and spent three years in Malaysia, married and had a son, Josh. divorced and eventually became a psychologist in private practice in Atlanta,Ga.

Favorite Augsburg memory:   The train rides from Ulm, I loved the friendships developed by the closeness this created. Learning to love soccer, Mr. Johanson, who taught me a lifelong love of history (and geography), and Herr Lepik, who taught me determination if nothing else. Since leaving Augsburg:   After two years in the army, returned to college and joined Mobil Oil.  32 years later, still with ExxonMobil, ready to retire.  I'm married (for 37 years) and have two grown boys.  I'm an avid bicyclist and still love travel. UPDATE: I recently retired and moved from northern Virginia to Cary, North Carolina. I'm working half-time from my home and enjoying bicycling, golf, bridge and charity work in my spare time. My wife and I just returned from a month-long trip to Italy.

Since leaving Augsburg: Graduated from Kansas State University, 1969, worked in newspapers _Albany (Or.) Democrat-Herald; Bakersfield (Calif.) Californian and now The Oregonian in Portland, Or. Wife, two kids, son 23, teaching English in China; daughter, 18, attending Agnes Scott College in Atlanta.

Favorite Augsburg memory:   Well, I have trouble remembering what I had for breakfast today but here goes.  I remember the dances at the AYA.  The German fair, Octoberfest, and oh yes, I did go to school once in a while.  Chemistry was my favorite class, even though I almost didn't pass.  Does anyone remember the little German park that was called "Infantry Park"?
