"Get Involved"

When was the last time you invited someone to your lodge meeting?  Have you stopped by a brother's house and carried him to a meeting lately?  Is there a brother that might come to a meeting if he knows he is needed or "wanted"?  Do you have an emblem or tag on your vehicles that tells the world that you are a Mason?  How many of your co-workers are Masons?  How many of them know that you are a Mason?  When was the last time someone approached you abroad in the world and asked you about Masonry because they knew you were a Mason?  When did you last attend a meeting or degree at another lodge?  Do you attend Grand Lodge each year?

Such seemingly small things could make a very large difference in our fraternity.  If each member that attended a meeting brought another brother that would double the number present.  If your friends and co-workers know you attend lodge regularly and you are proud of it by displaying an emblem more would become interested and inquire about our fraternity.  Women have more influence in our lifes than we like to admit, so let us use this most powerful tool to the advantage of the lodge; if your wife supports the fraternity the effect will be positive.

The average age of  a Mason in Mississippi is more than the time allotted to each of us by the Great Architect in the Holy Bible.  To continue we must sow good seed and tend the young plants, then at harvest time save only those seed which will produce another good crop, even though they be few.  It is better to have a basket half full of good fruit than a full basket of spoiled fruit.  When the world at large can see what you are growing, they might possibly want to obtain some seed, but if they never know what is growing in your fields or see the fruits, how will they ever know if they like your product.
