Razzy | In 1993, my dear mother died at the age of 81, with Fritz, our miniature dachsund, age 9 years, at her side. Soon thereafter Razzy, a terrier-mix pound puppy became a part of our family, to be a companion to Fritz. I was afraid he would grieve himself to death without my mother. Razzy soon adopted Mr. Frog as HER toy. One can see Mr. Frog, a green, plastic, squeaky toy in her picture. Mess with Mr. Frog? I think not. |
Beloved Fritz 4-30-1984 to 6-19-1997 | Razzy and Fritz quickly became steadfast companions. At times they were like an old married couple, snipping at each other, yet loving each other. Fritz's physical problems increased as he aged, however, and in June of 1997, after having had a needle biopsy, Fritz died in his sleep on the foot of my bed. An autopsy revealed multiple physical problems, including many tumors. I had Fritz cremated and sprinkled his ashes on my parents' gravesite. |
![]() Jenny | After Fritz died, Razzy began to grieve and soon had to be hospitalized and put on IV's. After the vet got Razzy's health somewhat restored, I went to the Dallas SPCA on the day of Razzy's release. I had not intended to get a very large dog, but I saw Jenny, a year-old terrier-schnauzer mix, and I fell in love. I felt somehow that I had to take her. I think I was afraid no one else would love her. She is loud and raucous and fiercely loyal. Jenny's day is spent largely standing watch in the bay window in my dining room. Razzy really is glad to have a companion, though she won't dare let anyone know. Jenny is glad to be loved, to have a home, and her favorite pastime is chasing squirrels and birds in the back yard. |

![]() "Mom" and the Girls | I laughingly refer to the three of us (Razzy, Jenny and me) as the three Stooges, but we are really more like the Three Musketeers (all for one; one for all). I realize there are alot of people out there who don't share my affection for animals in general and for dogs in particular. I respect their feelings; however, I do love my dogs and feel they enrich my life. As I tell anyone who will listen, "my dogs love me when no one else does. Their love is unconditional." |

Cuki Mokus was a dear, sweet creature who, having been abandoned, entered the Dwyers' lives, made them richer for the experience, had a full life and then passed on to the other side of life. For more about the life and times of Cuki, told by Tunde Dwyer, press the "squirrel" button below.![]() | |
