Stangl Birds with Other Finishes

Stangl introduced a number of birds in limited quantities in special finishes. Among these birds are black glazed birds (3250 ducks and the Mutual Sunset Rooster), the 3285 and 3286 Rooster and Hen Shakers which can be found in various solid colors, and the "Fulper artware glazed" bluejays. These bluejays (3715 Bluejay with Peanut and the 3716 Bluejay with Leaf ) were made using terra cotta clay and decorated with the "Fulper" artware glazes of blue, brown, and gray. In addition to these limited production finishes a few birds can also be found in other unique finishes. In most cases these birds are "one-of-a-kind" and were either samples, experimental colors, done for the employees themselves (as "lunch hour specials"), or were seconds (partially decorated birds that were never finished). Since Stangl sold all their experimental pieces and seconds, it is possible to find a number of unique and one-of-a-kind birds.
