Late "Molded" Patterns

During the last few years of Stangl's existence, they introduced a number of "molded" patterns that were a radical departure from their previous hand painted pottery lines. Indian Summer was originally created for Tiffany. It was later distributed nationally by Stangl. It's ridged surface gave it a handmade "country" look. Maize-Ware featured a molded corn ear pattern. Texture-Ware was a series of four patterns that featured various textures on the rims or surfaces of each piece. The four different patterns were burlap (featuring a burlap cloth like texture), corduroy (featuring a herringbone design), shantung (featuring a rough silk cloth texture), and verdura (featuring a raised vegetable pattern). (Note: Shantung plates and occasionly Burlap plates can be found with various decal patterns applied in their centers. Christmas patterns are especially common.)
