Stangl Pottery Kiddieware

One of the most collectible of all of Stangl's lines, "kiddieware" was manufactured from the early 1940's until Stangl's close in 1978. The early kiddieware pieces were manufactured for a company named Lunning and bear the Lunning mark. This line was so successful that Stangl continued the line under the Stangl name when the contract with Lunning expired. The early Lunning pieces feature a brushed on englobe which gives them a rougher less finished appearence and typically were made in "darker and less cheery" colors. The main kiddieware line included two piece sets (comprised of a 3 section dish and a cup) and three piece sets (comprised of a plate bowl and cup). In addition a number of misc. items were made such as musical mugs (for Lunning), baby feeding dishes, three section warming plates, grill plates, etc..
