In 1940 Stangl Pottery introduced a line of hand painted animals. Eleven different animals were made. These animals were not very popular at the time and are all fairly uncommon. The draft horse, the rabbit, and the gazelle are the easiest to find, where as the colt, the goat,  and the calf are extremely hard to find. In the mid 1950s Stangl introduced a larger 5" elephant and an 8 1/2" cat. These later introductions can be found in various finishes including antique gold, black gold, granada gold, plain black, plain white and even pink.
