Hours of Operation

Mt. Aurora Skiland is open Saturdays and Sundays whenever there is enough snow to ski. The season normally starts around Thanksgiving and runs until around mid-April.

  • Winter - (November - February) - 10:00 a.m. to dusk or 5:00 p.m. - whichever comes first

  • Spring - (March & April) - 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities Road Weather Information System Cleary Summit Weather Station

This weather station is on the Steese Highway at Cleary Summit a little less than a mile from the top of the chairlift. It gives a consistently accurate look at the conditions at Skiland complete with webcam.


University of Utah's MesoWest weather station on Caribou Peak, a little more than 10 miles north of Skiland.

This weather station is at about the same altitude as Skiland's parking lot.
