Another Way to Clamp - where a Clamp Won't Fit!
John O. Kopf
Ever had to clamp something, and found you couldn't get a clamp there
(e.g., holding a plank to the frame - next to the keel)?

If you can get a piece of wire through a gap, try this: cut a slot in
the ends of a clothes-pin (see figure to left), bend a piece of wire into
an "S" or "Z" shape, and use it as a hook, pulled by the clothes-pin, to
clamp the work (see figure to right). Any wire will do - even the odd
paper-clip; it just need to be stiff enough to not straighten out under
tension.
A collection of varying-length S-hooks makes it even more convenient to
just grap wbat you need.
