In the fighting near Armantiers on 29.5.40, Prinz, the Führer of a Panzerjäger platoon, especially distinguished himself when he and his platoon forced a breakthrough of the English positions and established a link-up with the formations located in Baillerul. For this dashing action Prinz was decorated with the Iron Cross Second Class on 21.6.40.

². In the campaign in Greece Prinz and his Panzerjägerkompanie played an essential roll in the breakthrough at Klidi pass (11 - 12.4.41). During the fighting against the Greek-Albanian Army in the Kastoria area (14 - 15.4.41), in the fighting pursuit through Thessalien which followed, and the subsequent advance on Joannina, Kompanie Prinz was always in the fore front. For the fighting in Greece Hauptsturmführer Prinz was decorated with the Bulgarian Order of Bravery fourth class on 27.2.42.
