TIMING for a cool, extended breeding is quite important and for a frozen insemination it is critical.

We offer breeding management coordination to pick the best breeding dates for both frozen and cool semen inseminations.

Results from combination of LH and progesterone testing is offered. If you are near our lab, the LH tests can be conducted here. If you live at a distance, we can have a test sent to you and guide you in the testing. Usually the LH surge can be obtained with six or fewer tests.

We send the blood serum for a progesterone assay to an Endocrine Lab in Ocala, Florida. Blood can be drawn here in our lab, or you or your vet can draw it and send to the lab. Results will be faxed to us. If you have a lab you prefer, it can be used and have the results faxed here.

For COOL, EXTENDED semen, we recommend that two inseminations be done.
Vaginal inseminations are satisfactory unless the stud has compromised semen,
in which case one surgical insemination is recommended.

For the use of FROZEN semen, the timing and thaw procedures are critical. One surgical insemination is recommended.

This chart is for a textbook bitch. Though most bitches will pretty much follow this pattern, there are some who do not.In those cases it can be far more difficult to predict the correct breeding date.
