Tuolumne Meadows                      (Click on any picture for an enlarged view.)

We stopped at Olmstead Point on the way to Tuolumne Meadows to enjoy this view of Tanaya Lake and the surrounding domes.

Here's Half Dome from Olmstead Point. Below Half Dome lies the eastern end of Yosemite Valley.

A couple enjoys a beautiful summer day on the Meadows.

Cathedral Peak looks down on Tuolumne Meadows. This beautiful, flat, lush valley lies at 8600 feet, and becomes a bleak, frozen wilderness in winter. The road into it is closed from mid-November until late May.

Rich fishes the stream that flows through the Meadows. In six months, the spot where he's standing will be buried under up to ten feet of snow.

Lembert Dome rises a thousand feet above the edge of Tuolumne Meadows. Can you spot the two climbers just below the right edge of the right-most arch?
