Bob and Marcy's Nissan Sentra, which they
generously loaned me for the driver's school.
Thanks Bob and Marcy!

Instructor Alan chases a Porsche into turn
one in his girlfriend Marty's Lexus during a
ride-along session. Marty rode shotgun.
|

A few cars line up in the pre-grid area in
preparation for their practice session. Each
session lasted 30 minutes, with 4 sessions
per day, for a total of 2 hours of track time.
|

Some of the rental Datsun 510's. There were
also a number of RX7's for rent. They passed
me when the track was dry and I passed them
when it was wet.
|

Here is the best-looking, er, car, at the track.
The car is over on the left, fellows.
|

This is called a Baby Grand, because it is
a scaled-down version of a Grand National
(now Winston Cup) stock car.
|

Turn 3 is a tight, off-camber, right-hand, down-
hill turn. I hated it. It was the only spot where
I went off the track. The racing line I took off
the track and into the mud is named after my
car's co-owner, Bob. Bob also hates turn 3.
|

Bob insisted I make a permanent record of
the mud that flew even onto the side mirrors.
|

Turn 4, a 90-degree left-hander, is at the top
of this hill. After four, the track drops down-
hill into the sweeping right-hand turn 5.
|

Students race out of turn 5 into turn 6, a high-
speed left-hand turn onto a short straightaway.
(Here's a track diagram for your reference.)
|

Be sure to click on this for an enlargement.
Several cars are climbing the hill into the
left-hand turn 4. Several others are headed
downhill through the right-hand turn 5.
|

The pace car leads a student group out of 4
and 5. This was for a practice side-by-side
rolling start (in the rain).
|

I believe these cars are called spec racers.
|

I believe these are Formula Fords.
|
|
I believe this is called rain. I loved the rain.
|

The cars go well over 100 mph as they pass
the flagstand at the end of the straightaway.
