| This is a photocopy of a curious item sent by Stetson Thomas. Around the oval reads "United States Waif Stamp Twenty Cents". Although it was probably not intended to represent a postage stamp, it does say "US Mail" across the top. The rest of the text which you may not be able to read is "Waifs Lost" (left), "Waifs Found" (right), and "Rejoice!" (bottom). Who is the man in the center? What is this stamp all about? |
