| I see a note in Scott about local authorized handstamps used in Algeria after independence and before new stamps were available. I finally have some. Are these overprints catalogued and identified as to place anywhere? Where are these illustrated examples from? Possibly Algers, since that's what the cancel says. |
| I have an old Ceres which illustrates four overprints: Alger, Bone, Oran and Constantine. They are distinctly different and yours is definitely Alger. [Jay Carrigan] |
