This design, cropped from a souvenir sheet of four, is identical in design to Republican Civil War
locals from Montcada i Reixac, but this has different text. What is it?

I think this is not listed in Galvez or Gomez. It is Civil War era, but is a
bogus private production. There is a write up on this in 2 articles by Theo
VanDamm that appeared a long time ago in the APS Journal. Sorry, do not have the
dates handy. [Brian McGrath]

This 'Espana Republicana' sheet comes in 2 colors: blue/green & orange-red/purple. Reported as early
as Nov. 26, 1937. The Mayor of Moncada i Rexac stated that these sheets are unknown, therefore
bogus. Based on a great article by Theo. Van Dam called 'Fakes, Phantoms, and Fantasies of the
Spanish Civil War'. It was published in "The American Philatelist" in Jan. of 1982. [Ed Pieklo]
