80. China Local Surcharge Stamp from Ankang

| This is supposed to be a 1993 "extra-value" (surtax) stamp from Ankang. It probably is, but where is it catalogued? I've seen a catalogue for Hubei Province, but not any others. (Ankang is in Shaanxi Province.) How many of these are there, anyway? |
| An excellent article by Xue Chao on these appeared in a recent Linn's Stamp News. The item shown here paid a local surcharge of 15-fen in Ankang, China. There were at least the three issued for Heilongjiang Province, 3, 10, and 20 fen, that are stamplike. Many other local surcharges of the late 80's and early 90's look like registered mail labels.
