From "Godthaab", when Greenland was a US Territory, I suppose. Not Likely! Actually, apart from
the stamp, it's completely bogus. Does anyone know when it was made, and if there's
a list of bogus precancels available?

It's a U.S. stamp, SC 899, issued in 1940. Greenland has never been a territory
of ours, rather it is owned by Denmark but we do have Air Force Bases there.
Precancels come in two types, locals and bureaus. This item is no doubt
a local, meaning it was precanceled in Greenland and probably mailed from
