Florida on Fire



This particular item was done while the air was still foul with smoke blown in by the evening sea breeze from thousands of fires to the east. Fortunately Orlando, and Orange County, were spared the devastation of the counties east of us, although we did have a few fires of our own. The souvenir sheet was designed with images found on the Internet: a firefighter retreating to safer ground, from an AP photo, and an infrared satellite photo of Florida, from NOAA.


TOPS Chapter 11 - 40th Anniversary

 


This stamp (in two versions) was prepared at my wife Kathy's request to honor the 40th anniversary of Orlando's Chapter 11 of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly), of which she has been a member for a four years. She painted the lighthouse.
