A savage, dirty, unbearable gentleman! I can think of a hundred reasons to hate him, but I sigh...and shed a tear... funny love. Liner Notes from Lunar Songs 1: Ruby is a child, but she's supposed to be up in years...so I ended up forming this enigmatic song around a '60's-ish sound. People from even earlier generations than mine will find plenty of phrases to grin at, but what do you think of it? Translation Notes: The original Japanese lyrics use "hen" all throughout where I've translated it as "wrong", "strange", "weird", and "funny". "Hen" itself means a blanket "abnormal", and since using "abnormal" itelf in a song seems inappropriate, given the word's slightly "clinical" tone - and since there's no one other English word equivalent to "hen" that would fit into all its uses here - I was forced to go with different translations of "hen" throughout the song. I'm afraid there's no way I can fully duplicate the parallelism the lyricist intended. "Oyama no taishou" is a Japanese idiom that literally translates to "chief of the mountain". "King of the hill" would be the most accurate translation of the phrase, but I just personally thought that "leader of the pack" fit this song's tone better. (It ain't THAT far off from "king of the hill".) I was forced to go with a different format from my other Lunar song translations this time around - "LoveLove Funny"'s lines were just too long to fit both Japanese line and corresponding English translation on one line.
