Neko wa Dorobou o Oikakeru [The Cat Tails a Thief] (Hayakawa Mystery Library) UP 1/6/00
The Cat Who Tailed a Thief
(mystery)
The new Koko and Yum Yum book. Much is written about the merry goings-on in Moose County and Pickax during winter, and I enjoyed that more than the mystery. Did anyone else feel that Koko wasn't very active this time...?

Neko wa Chiizu o Nedaru [The Cat Asks for Cheese] (Hayakawa Mystery Library) UP 6/9/99
The Cat Who Said Cheese
(mystery)
Koko and Yum Yum are present as always, but the mystery seems much more interested in the humans this time. A lot of cheese appears in this book; as someone who has been crazy about dairy products lately, I recommend this mystery.
I liked how you saw the problems and issues concerning the characters introduced near the beginning of the book gradually resolved. This certainly is a most flavorful volume of the series.

Neko wa Kiteki o Narasu [The Cat Blows the Whistle] (Hayakawa Mystery Library)
The Cat Who Blew the Whistle
(mystery)
The Koko and Yum Yum series. Even a cat-hater like me liked Koko this time around. As usual, though, I didn't like the case or cat's far-fetched supernatural antics . But, though I have my own feelings about cats, I guess - just in books, mind you - they can also be kind of cute!

Neko wa Shima ni Wataru [The Cat Crosses over to the Island] (Hayakawa Mystery Library)
The Cat Who Came to Breakfast
(mystery)
I thought Koko and Yum Yum were cute, but the far-fetched aspects of the cats and case weren't much to my tastes at all. I didn't think Qwill particularly needed their help anyway; would it be bad, really, if all the cats were was cute?

Neko wa Kurosetto ni Kakureru [The Cat Hides in the Closet] (Hayakawa Mystery Library)
The Cat Who Went into the Closet
(mystery)
As usual, Koko was likable. Conversely, though, was it me, or is Yum Yum's character a little thin? The more journalistic angle of this book fits Qwill very well.
