BEHOLD THE SHINING MOUNTAINS
Back Cover
BEHOLD THE SHINING MOUNTAINS --
BEHOLD is the perfect mix of hard core history of frontier and city life with explosive emotion that makes a transfixing 1830s saga! See a man dedicated to honor and hard work survive Arctic cold, Indian wars, grizzlies and greedy men in a land where the weak wait in shallow graves for the wolves. Walk New York City's deserted streets after the cholera riots and upper class flight to the grunts of pigs eating garbage and decaying corpses.
For all its accurate diary quotes, Maps, Bibliography and Index, BEHOLD is still a three hanky book with a dozen belly laughs -- a captivating tornado roaring across land that was or became 36 states. See the Prologue and Table of Contents for more information.
Gary Wiles worked his grandpa's cattle ranch in the Rockies as a boy. He graveyarded as a cop thru a college B.A., then wore a Deputy Marshal's star until earning his law degree. He tried civil cases nationwide until succumbing to writing and wildlife photography.
Delores M. Brown grew up in historic Greeley, Colorado, near Ft. Vasquez. Her research skills built BEHOLD'S 223 volume Bibliography. BEHOLD'S cover is her blend of Gary's eagle and landscape. Her artistic images grace posters, magazine and book covers.
