Author note: A Perry A. Pendroy m. Alice E. Tice Feb 4, 1892 in Marion Co. Iowa.

Author Note: Brothers Allen and David Tice are two of the very first original pioneer families, which pioneered into and founded Monroe, Iowa in 1843. The Tice name is found frequently in historical publications of Marion and Jasper County Iowa.

Read mention of Allen Tice as early settler of Monroe Iowa in 1843. His daughter Alice Tice married Perry Austin Pendroy, son of James Martin and Sarah (Baldwin) Pendroy. Allen Tice married Harriet Burkhalter.

Harriet Burkhalter was a brother to William Henry Burkhalter.

The 1887 History of Marion County Iowa mentions a Burkhalter family Cemetery in Sec 29, but do not know if still exists. The Pendroy Cemetery mentioned on the same page has not been found, if it even exists anymore.

Since Perry is believed to have gone to  North Dakota with his immediate family in 1882, this marriage date would be some years after that. Therefore, he would have traveled back to Iowa for the wedding. Details are unknown concerning this issue.

On this entire Summit Township 1875 map showing J.M. Pendroy in Section 7, it is interesting to note that a Tice family lived on the next farm.
