Misc. Information: It is believed (but not apparently established with definitive proof) by some researchers that Horatio Pace and Uriah Pace were both sons of William B. Pace.
One of the probate documents specifically states that upon the death of Horatio Pace, Uriah Pace paid $175 to Horatio's estate, to buy out the half of the land they owned together.
There was a sale held at Jacob Pendroy's house and all of Horatio Pace's farm tools, livestock & household goods were sold. Jemima petitioned the County Judge to have her father Jacob Pendroy be made the guardian of her three sons, James Madison Pace, Jacob Horatio Pace and Marion Pace. It was interesting to see one written document in which Jacob Pendroy referred to James Madison Pace as "Madison Pace", and did not use his full name. Later Jemima (Pendroy) Pace, the young widow with three young sons, accompanied the Pendroy extended families as they pioneered into Iowa in 1849, where Jemima Pace later married Daniel Mosier in neighboring Jasper County.
William B. Pace is known to have died in 1845 in Albany, Delaware County Indiana.
Jacob Pace started a small cemetery in Civil bend township near Elk Point South Dakota, and they have a son buried there that died in 1871.
2 of Horatio & Jemima (Pendroy) Pace's sons; Marion Pace and James Madison Pace are both believed to have been in the Civil War. (They would have enlisted from Iowa). Horatio & Jemima (Pendroy) Pace's other son was Jacob Horatio Pace.

View 1842 Delaware County Indiana Land DEED to Uriah Pace and Horatio Pace from a Robert Malcam (or Malcom) deeding land . It is dated 10th day of March 1842, and seems to for 80 acres for the sum of $500. The deed is signed by Robert Malcam, and is witnessed by signatures of William Pace and Moses Edwards. It is also signed by Warner Mann Justice of the Peace. Later in December 9 and 10 of 1845 , it is signed by a James S. Maddy.
Jemima Jane (Pendroy) (Pace) Mosier was a daughter of Jacob and Margaret (Boots) Pendroy. Horatio Pace was a school teacher. Horatio Pace is listed in the county next to Delaware (Randolph) as being the first school teacher in a one room school. If it was the same Horatio Pace, (which seems probable), he apparently left teaching and went back or into farming full time, as his probate records show they owned and operated a farm, complete with equipment, tools and livestock. Their farm would seem to have been a full time vocation. However, it is possible they owned the farm, and Horatio still taught school by hiring a farm laborer for example. This is speculation, as known details about Horatio Pace are not numerous.
They had three sons who were quite young when Horatio died. Details of his death are not known. There was a sale of their personal property, with Jemima's father Jacob Pendroy acting as Executor of their estate. Then, Jemima Pace and her three sons pioneered in 1849 with their parents to Marion County Iowa, near Otley in Red Rock/Summit Township.
The 3 sons were named Marion Pace, Jacob Horatio Pace, and James Madison Pace. Jacob Pendroy was named legal guardian of the 3 boys, both in Indiana, and later in Iowa.
Jemima (Pendroy) Pace in 1849 married a widowed farmer (with his own children) named Daniel Mosier in Marion County Iowa.
