After leaving MHS I joined the Army and was stationed in Germany from 1985-1992.  I am a Gulf War Vet.  Upon my departing as a soldier I took on a job with the DOD and remained in Germany.  I am currently the Automation Specialist for Grafenwoehr Germany (1 of 3 posts assigned to the 100th ASG, 7th ATC). I married a great German woman in January 1987 and we have child named Sarah Marie (born Dec 87). I am always on the lookout for information on the next 84 class reunion and searching for fellow classmates to see how their lives have gone.

After college I returned to Bradenton and ran the Desota Boys Club for three years and coached track at the Junior college with Wilbur Hicks. That is where I met Carol Bell (MHS) class of 66.  We got married in 1967. Moved to Tallahassee when I took a job as an unemployment  field auditor in January of 1970.  I was promoted up the ladder and became Chief of Tax Enforcement with the State Department of Labor.  Stayed there for 22 years.  Nine years ago the US Department of Labor appointed me as their Chief of Unemployment Tax and we moved to the Washington, DC area. http://community-2.webtv.net/retthensley/Pictures/

I graduated from MHS in 1993.  (Gosh it seems like yesterday!  It is so hard to believe that it has been 7 years!)  During my 4 years at MHS I was a cheerleader, actively involved in National Honor Society, Z Club, and the Peer Counseling Club.  I have particularly fond memories of the MHS football team, since I got to be there right in the midst of their heyday.  (State Champs my freshman and senior years!)  My high school years were really incredible, and I wouldn't trade them for the world (but I don't want to go back, either!) After graduation I attended Florida State University (yet another great football school, GO 'NOLES!)  I graduated Cum Laude in 1997 with a degree in Biological Science.  Currently I am living in Miami, FL, and I am just starting my 3rd year as a medical student at the University of Miami School of Medicine.  I plan to FINALLY finish formal training in the year 2001, and practice in the field of either OB/GYN or Internal Medicine (this week that is what I want, any way!) I fear I've lost touch with many of my fellow classmates over the years, and often wonder what happened to everyone.  I'd love to hear from anyone who cares to get in touch with me.  My parents still reside in Bradenton, and my brothers are attending MHS right now (c/o 2000 and c/o 2001).  The renovations and new buildings at the school are simply breathtaking.  I can't wait for the 10 year reunion!

I didn't do much in high school but get myself in trouble.  I was a member of Anchor Club, I ran cross-country a couple of years but I never did as good as I should have done.  I also was a wrestling stat, I really enjoyed working with Coach Upton and Coach Kelly, I will definitely never forget them!!  I had a lot of great friends I lost track of, I now regret losing sight of them and the goals that I had set for myself so early in life. I quit school in 1989 because I definitely did not have my act together.  Well, after I finally did decide to get my act together and graduate from high school in 1990 I moved to Gainesville to live with my mom and work.  Then, I relocated in 1991 to Tampa to move in with a friend.  That's where I met my ex-husband who is a 1986 graduate of MHS.  I joined the Army and we moved to Ft Huachuca, Arizona in January 1993. I was an Administrative Specialist (Company Clerk) in 556th Signal Company, 504th Signal Battalion. My daughter, Victoria was born in October 1993. My husband and I divorced in 1994. I met the love of my life, Bryan, at Ft Huachuca.  He was also stationed out there, we were married in April, 1996.  He soon left for Ft Hood, Texas and I stayed in AZ.  Then, I went to Ft Sam Houston where I reclassified (changed jobs) and became a Food Inspector.  I was stationed at Jacksonville Naval Air Station where I worked at the Commissary.  Since we couldn't seem to get stationed together, we decided that I would separate from the Army, which I did in November (98). Considering the fact that I was pregnant, we thought that would be the best for everyone anyway.  My second daughter, Kaitlyn was born in December.  We have lived in Georgia, at Ft Stewart, since November.  I plan to begin school in the fall to finally accomplish some of my goals.

I attended school in Bradenton from the third grade to the eleventh. It was a very sad time when my family decided to move to Oklahoma for my senior year of high school. I consider MHS class of 93' my graduating class, although I didn't actually graduate from there. All my friends and memories linger in the halls of MHS. I was active in the choral department for the three years I attended MHS. I wasn't always the most outgoing or the first one to speak but, I still enjoyed my time there and made some great friends. I'm sure I probably remember more people than remember me but, that's ok. Music is still my first love. I attended college at East Central University in Ada, OK for six semesters. I majored in Vocal Performance. I soon learned that even though singing is my heart and soul, that direction was not where I wanted to go with my music. I changed my major to Accounting and decided I didn't like that either. I know it seems fickle,  but I am very clear about music. I want to entertain people with my voice. I hope to one day get a recording contract, but until that day I'll use this wonderful gift that God has blessed me with to entertain myself and my husband. I'll still keep getting all of my inspiration to not give up on my dream from all the R&B and POP singers in this world. If I ever make it big, I'll always give credit to MHS keeping my dream alive while I was there. I am married now. My husband's name is AJ. I met him while I was attending college. We have been married for three and a half years. He is my very best friend. When we met he owned three grocery stores. We got married and after one year he sold his stores and went to work for Fleming Companies, which is a grocery supplier. We relocated to Lubbock, TX. We lived there for almost two years, then we moved to Sherman, TX where AJ went  to work for Affiliated Foods. They are another grocery supplier. We lived in Sherman for one year and now we live in Idabel, OK. AJ is general Manager over five stores in the area. In our spare time we like to take cruises. We've been to the Eastern and Western Caribbean and also Baja Mexico. Cruising is the greatest. Many of you may remember my sister, Jill Johnson-Young. I have to say that I am very proud her.  This past May she graduated with an MA in Human Relations with an emphasis on counseling form the University of Oklahoma. She graduated with a 4.0 grade point. She is an MHS alumni of the class of 1990.  KEEP YOUR DREAMS CLOSE TO YOUR HEART, THEY MAY TAKE YOU PLACES YOU'VE ONLY DREAMED!!!

We started dating the end of our senior year and were married in 1971 after Bob graduated from engineering school. Two weeks later he started with FP&L where he has been for 30 years, currently as Regional Manager for External Affairs.  After moving around Florida seven times we are now in Ormond Beach and just love it. Matt, our oldest of two sons, graduated with a Masters from the University of Florida and is a 5th grade school teacher in Gainesville. This summer Micah completed 4 years with the Navy as a cryptologist spending most of his time in Japan and is now working on an engineering degree. As empty nesters, we divide our time between community organizations and riding our motorcycles. (The photo is from an article in  Halifax Magazine about bikers with traditional lives.) Bob has served as chairman of the Daytona Chamber of Commerce, FUTURES Education foundation, Boys & Girls Club and others. Bobbi just finished two terms as President of the Daytona Beach Symphony Society and is active with the Literacy Council, PACE Center for Girls and Daytona Beach Leadership Council. We both are Elders in the Presbyterian Church.  As we move through the phases of our lives we continue to grow in love with each other enjoying together all the festive activities in central Florida. After school I joined the Navy, married my high school sweetheart and went off to make my mark in the world. Well, after 13 years in the Navy I got out, by this time I was not married any more. In 1985 I was living in Clearwater drifting from job to job, not really knowing what to do with myself. Being in the Navy made me rather dependent on this stucture of the millitary. In 1989 I moved to Altanta, still not settled or moving towards making my mark in world. Well, in 1996 I moved to San Francisco. Started working in hospitality first job at the Ramada Inn of Burlingame near the San Francisco Airport as a Front Desk Clerk - was there up until last year. During this time vacationed in China, the Philippines and Korea, and met the lady who would show me how to make my mark in the world. Leila, my wife, and I were married in 1997 in a village called Kabacan in the Philippines. Last year I joined the management team of the Hilton Garden Inn, also near the San Francisco Airport. It took some time but ! life is what I have always hoped for, I give thanks to my God and the never say never attitude. Hope to see all for the 30th Class reunion.

I played in the High School Band and orchestra for all of my high school years. Pop Grant got me started on the French Horn in the 7th grade. At that time the HS was home for grades 7 through 12. I rode by bike to and from school carrying my horn balanced on the rear fender. After HS I had a scholarship to Auburn Univ. but it got cancelled due to a shortage of scholarship funds. Realizing that a war was in the works, I enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corp on October 15, 1940 as a buck private making $21 dollar per month. I progressed through the ranks and retired in 1974 as a full Colonel. A long road but an interesting one. The Air Force gave me my Bachelors and Masters degrees for which I was grateful. I graduated from Univ of Florida in 1950. After retiring from the AF in 1974, I went to work for Arizona State University until I retired from there in 1984 as Director of Personnel. Since then I have served on Benefit Committees for the Department of Administration, State of Arizona. I also serve as the Chair of the Arizona State University Retiree Association Health Insurance Committee. I now live in Chandler AZ, a community south of the University. I have three daughters, 6 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild with two more on the way. The oldest of my daughters was born in Gainesville, Fla while I was attending the University. We lived in FlaVet Village, a group of apartments from the war years. At 80 years of Age I still get a kick out of life. If you feel like please email at %rmurra@asu.edu% or write. So long for now.

After MHS, I attended the University of Florida and then moved to Washington, DC, where I received my law degree from Georgetown U. in 1977. I married Harriet McFaul in 1981, and we have two great kids, one in college and one in high school. Harriet is a former federal prosecutor who writes romance novels for Leisure Books and is also a part-time actor. I have been in private practice in and around Washington for my entire career; our firm’s website is found at http://www.boringandpilger.com. We live in McLean, Virginia, just outside of Washington. Both Harriet and I have relatives living along the Florida Gulf Coast, so we try to get down that
way every year or two. We made it to the 25th reunion and hope to be there for the 35th. I would enjoy hearing from any MHS acquaintances, especially the band folks! (Editor's note: Karl is the webmaster of our MHS Band pages.)

I got married and didn't graduate with the class (although the high school record said I was of that class). I did graduate from Manatee Jr College for my high school diploma, so guess they sent it on to the high school. David and I have been married 41 years this Nov. 18.  A life time ago from Manatee High. Gee where did the time go?! Since I left school, I have also left Florida, following a Baptist minister can take you places. It took us to Texas in 1968 for David to finish college in Plainview. Then to Kansas City for seminary, we pastored in both places, then to Willow Springs, MO, then we went 9 years in to the pioneer mission field in South Dakota, that was an experience. We lived 2 1/2 yrs of that in Sturgis, SD the home of the Motorcycle Rally. A town of 5,000 grows to over 100,000 and much more since we left in 1986. We lived in Bolivar, MO for  5 years where I worked as office manager and administrative assistant to the Public Relations Director for 4 of those years.   That was a fun job.  Had over 40 workstudy students I was in charge of, plus I work along with the yearbook, college newspaper and photography. The last year we were there I went to work with the local Radio Station. Since coming to Branson in 1991, I have worked as secretary in insurance and real estate, then I work at a title company for 3 years.  Now I am in Branson working with a resort in their corporate office, doing data entry, I find I like my corner and away from the phones as much as possible now days. My husband is still pastoring, he retired over a year ago, but a little church decided he needed to pastor them and get out of retirement, so he does that part time and works at Camp Coleman in a Mall part time, he likes that, since he always did like hunting, camping and etc. We have 3 children....Jody lives in Texas and is an athletic trainer, he worked with Tampa Bay Bucs during his college days.  He and Theresa have 2 daughters, our oldest grandchildren.   Our adopted daughter Monica lives with husband Kelly in Aurora, MO and have one son.  They  both work at different radio stations.  Our youngest, Tracy is in St. Louis,  a mother of 4 (2 girls and 2 boys).  Her husband is a manager over a department at Quest (formerly Smith Cline Beachem Medical labs. My mom still lives in the area there, and we try to get home once a year, siblings still live there too. Hope you all have a wonderful time at the reunion.
