Chace & Stacie,
You did not say what brand of parrot food you are feeding, or if it is seeds, pellets or extruded food. Blue and Golds and Blue Throats tend to get fat and they suffer from fatty liver disease more than other species. I recommend feeding a Blue and Golds a diet consisting of 50% extorted food (there are many brands to chose from such as, Kaytee, Harrison, Pretty Bird, Hagan and more.) and 50% fresh fruits and vegetables. I would give them an occasional nuttwo or three a day. I suggest almonds or pistachios. Pumpkin seeds can be offered as treats. I do not like to give birds peanuts since they may contain aflatoxins. Table food is only good for birds if it is also good for humans. Foods high in cholesterol, salt, sugars and chemicals are not healthy for birds. There are some foods that should never be fed to any bird. These include avocados, chocolate and any type of alcohol.
