Roy,
I think Harrison's pellets are one of the best on the market. The reason that I decided to try Harrison's is that Dr. Greg Harrison is the only major producer of bird food, that I am aware of, that had Hyacinth Macaws that were producing babies. Many of the companies do not even have a single Hyacinth. They were unable to do any controlled studies on Hyacinths. Though some of these companies have done field studies.
Most pellets are not meant to be the only food the birds receive. We feed a mixture of nuts, fresh foods and Harrison's. There are also problems connected to feeding breeder diets all year round. Breeder diets should be fed when birds are breeding and feeding babies. These formulations are very rich and can be harmful if they are fed to birds that are not breeding.
