Yes, it is possible to have too much of a good thing and it is possible for a Hyacinth to get too much fat. I do not often see fat Hyacinths. However, I am starting to see an increasing number of obese Hyacinths. These are spoiled birds that are eating nuts and nothing else. Often they are only eating macadamia nuts.
Without seeing what your birds are actually eating, it is hard for me to say if they are overeating nuts. If your birds are actually eating fruits and vegetables and not just throwing them out, they are likely doing OK. However, this is something that you might want to decide only after having a good avian veterinarian run some tests on your birds. I prefer Harrison's pellets to Roudy Bush. Also, Hyacinths that are getting nuts and a good balance of vegetables do not need any seed.
