Roy,
Hyacinth tend to be slim birds. I have only seen one fat Hyacinth and I have heard of one more. They have more energy than most birds and seem to burn calories very fast. I don't think that your birds weight sounds all that bad. However, it would be difficult to say without seeing the bird.
You could try some Brazil nuts. They are not my favorite to feed. I have found that they are often rancid and full of fungus. However, if you crack them open and carefully inspect them, you can reduce the risk of your bird eating a bad nut.
Something else I have noticed is that Hyacinth who will eat other foods that are good for them such as sweet potatoes, mangos, broccoli, pellets, etc, tend to maintain a better weight.
Don't be fooled by people who tell you their Hyacinth weighs 2500 grams or 3000 grams. I have seen a 200+ Hyacinth and I have never seen one that heavy. My vet told me of a man who told her that he had a 13 pound Hyacinth, that would be around 6000 grams. People tend to exaggerate when they are discussing how much their birds weigh.
If your bird is not cracking the macadamia nuts, just dropping them to the bottom of the cage, she maybe a little lazy. Our pet birds don't have to work like their wild counterparts and they know it. You can open a few nuts for her. A macadamia nut cracker would be very helpful. If she likes them, she will start cracking them herself. If she still won't eat them try eating a few in front of her. You might gain a few pounds!
