·  Shooting Star (Tecumseh) A skilled and courageous Shawnee fighter, Tecumseh was, however, known for his opposition to unnecessary, arbitrary killing.  He and his brother, Tenskwatawa (The Shawnee Prophet), established a northern Indiana village called Prophet's Town, which was later destroyed in 1811. Tecumseh died at the Battle of the Thames on Oct. 5, 1813.

Fairfield Township is located in central Tippecanoe county, with the Wabash River as its western and northwestern boundary.
Fairfield Township communities include: the City of Lafayette, which is the county seat, Eastwitch and Tecumseh.

Shelby Township is located in the northwestern corner of the county, with White County 's Round Grove Township to the north, and Benton County 's Bolivar Township, and Fountain County 's Medina Township, to the west.  Shelby Township communities include: Montmorenci and Old Halfway.  The city of Otterbein, though located primarily in Benton county, extends into Shelby Township as well.


Tippecanoe Township is located in northern Tippecanoe county, with White County 's Prairie Township to the north.
Tippecanoe Township communities include: Battle Ground and Cairo.

 


Union Township is located in west central Tippecanoe county, with the Wabash River as its northern boundary.
Union Township communities include: Shadeland and Taylor.


Wabash Township is located in northern Tippecanoe county, with the Wabash River at its southeastern and southern boundary, and White County 's Round Grove and Prairie Townships to the north.
Wabash Township communities include: Bar Barry Heights, Crumb Corner, Klondike, McQuinn Estates, Octagon, Ravinamy and the city of West Lafayette.  Across the Wabash River, to the east, is the City of Lafayette, which is situated in Fairfield Township .
